At the beginning of Spring, I love to spend time dreaming of what I will do with our outdoor space!! We have a beautiful covered porch right off of our living room. It becomes our main living space during the warmer months! This space gets lots of love! We love to play, hang out, eat and entertain here as well.
Of course, I needed the porch refresh to be whimsical! I like to start most of my spaces by choosing a rug.
This year I found this gorgeous rug that is mostly neutral with a pop of teal. It’s from Sunbrella Canvas Indoor/Outdoor Rug in Aruba 8×10 and I am in love! It provides the perfect setting for a cozy welcoming space. It also makes a great spot for the kids to sit and play!
We have already collected our favorite porch furniture from over the last several years. This year, I got to just hunt for all the little pieces to tie everything together like the adorable flamingo, some throw pillows, the adorable little trays and bucket, lanterns and some new plants! I visited Homegoods, Pier One, Lowes and Target to find all the finishing touches for this space.
I started by clearing the whole area off so I had a fresh canvas to work with, then laid out our new rug and got to work! It was so much fun to move things around, arrange and decorate. I’m giddy over how it all turned out and kind of want to move out here for the rest of the summer!!
With this porch refresh, I made sure to include some things, especially for the kids. I found a bucket to put their crayons, snacks and juice boxes in and these whimsical giant outdoor blocks will be everyone’s favorites I’m sure!
One of our favorite things to do is have our fire tower on to roast marshmallows for s’mores! I grew up around a campfire during summer months. However, with four little ones, it isn’t always easy preparing a campfire and sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate. That’s why I love the fire tower! We can use it during any weather and it’s so easy to use, no firewood needed!
Making our house a home fills my soul. This whimsical porch refresh gets me so excited about all the memories we will create! I know this space is going to be filled with tons of laughter, cuddles, and fun all summer long! No matter what space I’m working on, I know we will make it our own.
