Here’s a fun donut post I did a while back that I had to repost for all of your fall and donut lovers!! It’s a good one!
So I don’t know if this whole genius idea of mine for Eat Sweets Fridays was such a good idea or not, because although it is a super cute and fun thing to share with you here, it means that I have another excuse to bake something delicious every week and then eat it!! So I guess it really is a good idea because let’s face it I would be baking anyway, it’s a bit of an addiction!
I was browsing through some fun new blogs the other day and came across this fabulous yummy and adorable donut recipe over on Coco Cake Land ! If you haven’t checked out her blog yet it is a must because all of her sweet creation are just the cutest things ever! I am in cute cake heaven over there! So I decided I had to give the recipe a try and of course I wanted to make those little donuts look adorable because that’s what I do! I even went to the point of telling my family which donuts they were and weren’t allowed to eat as to how pretty they turned out. My family of course had to eat the messy donuts and the prettiest ones got saved for the next days photo shoot! I’m a little mean when it comes to giving up my pretty desserts before they get photographed (Don’t worry they all got plenty of treats.)!
This was a pretty easy recipe to make. It is a baked donut that you don’t even have to let rise which I love since I am an instant gratification kind of girl! I baked them in little donut tins, I got mine at Crate and Barrel but I think they may sell them at Michaels as well. There are two sizes, the tiny ones are my favorites of course! I then made the glaze and added some cute festive sprinkles. It made quite a lot so I also did a cinnamon sugar version of these cuties. Instead of putting the glaze on top I dipped them in melted butter and then cinnamon and sugar because that’s one of our favorites!
I had so much fun photographing these homemade donuts. The colors are so me and I loved including little Miss Libby in the session. She has such a sweet tooth, just like her mama, so she was more than happy to join me and help show how cute these little treats are!
These would make adorable desserts at any party and you could color the glaze to match your event! I think they would be so prefect for a brunch or baby shower! I hope you enjoyed this Eat Sweet Friday and will join us again next Friday for another sweet treat!
