UI’s 1st Fun & Funky Day of Christmas!

Homemade All Natural Playdough

I love giving gifts to my son and friends children that I know are very safe and fun. When I found this recipe I was so excited. Many of you may have tried playdough recipes at home before but if not give this one a try it is a ton of fun and very easy. I love to split the dough into pieces and color it different colors and then stack them in a glass canning jar to give as a gift. It looks adorable if you tie a small cookie cutter or rolling pin onto the side of the jar. These make great gifts for those toddlers and preschoolers in your life and are so unique.

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 cups cold water
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
food coloring or sugar free kool- aid

Put all the ingredients (except for food coloring) in a saucepan on the stove top and stir. Turn on low heat and keep stirring with wooden spoon until the mixture thickens. After a few minutes the dough will become thick and hard to move. Turn off the heat and put onto cool surface.
After the dough becomes cool enough to handle, break into pieces and mix in food coloring.
