You all know what huge smoothie lovers we are and how we have a smoothie every morning for breakfast. We usually stick with the traditional strawberry or strawberry and peach smoothie, it just makes things easier. Usually twice a week I tried to come up with a new smoothie recipe to mix things up.
This week we tried a new triple berry smoothie, we were able to snag some frozen berries from the store that we haven’t been able to get. This smoothie consists of frozen strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries combined together and it was delicious. We are now adding this to one of our regular favorites!
Hopefully within the next few weeks we are going to share with you a peanut butter date smoothie that is amazing! We love having some variety and switching things up. Claire especially loved this smoothie. It was so nice when we made this it was our first breakfast out on the porch. It wasn’t overly warm out, but it was sunny and warm enough for us to enjoy the fresh air! It was really just the best way to start the day!!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups vanilla yogurt
- 3/4 cup liquid of choice(I use half and half)
- 1 whole banana fresh or frozen
- A handful of frozen strawberries
- A handful of frozen blueberries
- A handful of frozen raspberries
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Enjoy!
This recipe is very versatile, you can change the liquid to whatever you like or enjoy most! If you wanted it to be dairy free you can leave out the yogurt and use an non dairy yogurt. I like to have yogurt in mine and the kids diets everyday because of the probiotics and active cultures. It is also a good added source of protein! I know some people can’t do dairy or just don’t like it so you can just swap it out for almond milk, coconut milk or a non dairy yogurt!
