A new favorite cinnamon bun
There is something so special about gooey Cinnamon Buns. The soft fluffy texture of the rolls and sweet glaze melted over the tops giving them that sweet and savory flavor. These sweet springy cinnamon bunny buns are truly one of our family’s favorite and release such a sweet aroma that fills our home with pure bliss! I know most people love cinnamon buns and there is something so heart-warming preparing these sweet treats with your family and then getting to enjoy them together. Before Phil and I had a house full of babies, I would always buy Pillsbury Cinnamon Buns for us, but one day I decided that I wanted to learn how to make homemade ones! So for the last few years, I started making them and trying out different recipes to find the best one. Well, I found my favorite and they are AMAZING and so worth the extra time it takes to make them!
This recipe that I am so excited to share with you is by Sweetapolita. I’ve tried many other cinnamon bun recipes but this one is always the one I come back to and I make it over and over and over again. It’s that good! My kids love cinnamon buns but they are by far Libby’s favorite. You’ll often find Libby, my father, and I sitting around the table eating cinnamon buns together.
You’ve got to add frosting
The frosting for this recipe calls to add a little flavoring. I love to add orange flavoring to mine. It gives the cream cheese frosting that extra kick and really pulls the treat together. When I want to make them for my family, I’ll usually keep the buns unfrosted, storing them in an airtight container and put the frosting in the refrigerator. When we’re ready to eat them I pull them out and scoop out the frosting and pour it over the cinnamon bun and pop it in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds and they taste just as if they were fresh out of the oven!
Dress them up!
I highly recommend reheating! Cinnamon buns are always best when they are fresh out of the oven. However, my family can’t always finish them in one day so we’ll store and then reheat allowing us to enjoy for several more days after we’ve made them. For
