My New Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

I’ve been searching for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe for years. We had a recipe that we would always make, but honestly it wasn’t spectacular. It made a good cookie, but I wanted a delicious cookie. I tried many different recipes over the years and still didn’t get quite what I was looking for. A friend of mine recently said to me that her mom made the best chocolate chip cookies. I begged for her to get me the recipe and she was right, they were perfect!

I made a few changes to the recipe she gave me to make it our own. They are chewy on the inside with the perfect amount of crisp on the outside. I made a double batch of them and they were gone within a day! I guess it’s safe to say that they were an absolute hit in our house!

I doubled the recipe of these because I made them probably twice the size you would a normal cookie. So if you decide to follow the recipe below make sure you make them bigger then you normally would, or if you decide to make them normal sized you will just end up with a lot more cookies! I did under bake them just a tad, I pulled them out just when they started browning along the edges but were still gooey and chewy in the middle. I did also let another batch bake like I would any other cookies and the ones that were under cooked a bit were much tastier!

Noah has really been into cooking and baking lately and he is really excited to learn this recipe. It is something that he has started to slowly do on his own so I’m excited for him to be able to make these!

  • Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix into cream mixture slowly until well blended together. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop on a prepared cooking sheet.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until desired consistency. (optional) Sprinkle sea salt on cookies directly after pulling them from the oven. Allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before putting them on a cooling rack.
