Cookies & Cream Popsicles

I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest search through recipes and I’ve been wanting to try a cookie and cream recipe for a while now. Libby was most excited about this recipe because she has a sweet tooth just like her momma. She absolutely loves Oreo cookies, they are one of her favorites! When we buy Oreo’s we usually have to put them up high or out of sight, if she finds them then she is sneaking into the pantry eating them.

We got some cookies the last time we were at the store and she was so excited to try these. I glanced at a couple different recipes and took what I liked from each of them to make my own. Also using things that we had around the house and liked in previous recipes. This recipe is similar to our Strawberries and Cream recipes, but with a few changes.

This recipe is super easy to make and it is more of an ice cream popsicle. It is very sweet and rich in flavor. The kids absolutely loved it and it is very much a treat popsicle! We love having the treat popsicles around as well for, after a meal, it makes choosing a treat simple! I made these in large and mini molds, but to me the large molds are a big portion and the mini’s are much better for us. The mini’s are great for a quick, sweet pick me up but not too much. There is just so much oreo cookie and cream in them that I think a big one is just a lot.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 12 Oreo Cookies

Directions:

  1. Put Oreo cookies in a food processor and chop them up. You can also put them in a Ziploc bag and crush them.
  2. Mix heavy cream, whole milk, and vanilla in a bowl. Then add crushed cookies to bowl, stir well.
  3. Pout into popsicle molds. ( Stir the mixture often when pouring the mixture into the molds so the cookie pieces don’t settle onto the bottom.
  4. Freeze for 6-8 hours or until popsicles are fully frozen
  5. Enjoy!

The cookies settled in the bottom when we made these, which was a pleasant treat. In the mini’s it almost ended up being half cookie half cream. We didn’t mind this at all, but if you don’t want the cookies to settle into the bottom then I would add fewer cookies. Or if you rather them be more creamy then I would do fewer cookies as well. My kids had no problem with it being heavy on the cookie side, they were happy to have more cookies in them!

I hope all of you enjoy this creamy cookie popsicle! They are perfect for when you or the kids want a treat or just need something sweet. I would love to see your popsicles, make sure to tag us on Instagram @livesweet and #livesweetrecipes to be featured in our stories!

  • BrendaDo you just add fruit in place of the Oreos if you were to make fruit popsicles ? Also where do you get your molds?

  • LindseyI have not tried that with this recipe, but I don’t see why it couldn’t work! Our popsicle molds are from Amazon, here is a link https://amzn.to/3dYxdGm
