I don’t know about you but for me recipes and foods from my past always taste better and give me all the feels! Growing up I had two amazing grandmothers her would spoil us with special treats and delicious meals every time we got together. I remember being excited for all of their usuals and how we would laugh and talk and share memories over those family recipes. Once of everyone’s all time favorites is Strawberry Fluff. No one else I know has ever heard of this recipe so it must be a real family secret and one that I am honored to share with all of you. My grandmothers made it for us all growing up and it was one of the last things I remember making sure I had from her before she passed away, I knew I had to continue making it for my father just the way she did and for my own children. Each year now my kids look forward to Strawberry season and fresh homemade fluff and my father comes over and sits at the kitchen table and eats it with us. It makes me so happy to be reminded of my sweet grandmother and to carry on a sweet tradition of hers.
Strawberry Fluff
1 quart mashed strawberries
1 1/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
3 Tbls minute tapioca
Mix together all ingredients and medium to large pot. Cook on medium to high and bring to a boil, boil hard for 1 minute while stirring.
Let cool, serve with a splash of half and half or heavy cream.
I hope your sweet families enjoy it as much as mine does and that you get to make new beautiful memories around your table to share for years to come, and when you eat it and share with your family and friends you can smile knowing that me and my grandmother are so honored that you created one of our favorite summer treats!
