Play Dough- (Lucykate Crafts)
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 cups cold water
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
food coloring
Put all the ingredients (except for food coloring) in a saucepan on the stove top and stir. Turn on low heat and keep stirring with wooden spoon until the play dough mixture thickens. After a few minutes the play dough will become thick and hard to move. Turn off the heat and put onto cool surface.
After the play dough becomes cool enough to handle, break into pieces and mix in food coloring.
We made this play dough several weeks ago and kept it in sealed Tupperware containers. It is still very soft and pliable, even though we play with it all the time! This is a great, non toxic recipe that is fun to make and very fun to play with.
