Homemade Fudgesicles!

Have you all jumped on the popsicle making train yet?! I’m still at after about two months of popsicle making and experimenting and loving it more than ever!! I’ve had to throw away several batches that we didn’t end up liking and I’ve tweaked some recipes here and there but in general, we’ve been enjoying a lot of amazing popsicles!!

Today I’m so excited to be sharing this wonderful homemade Fudgesicle recipe! These are a treat popsicle for sure! Rich and creamy and oh so tasty! Definitely a favorite of everyone’s and just the perfect sweet pick me up for any time of day!! I normally make these for the kids in the mini molds because they like to have them throughout the day as a sweet treat and then the big ones are for an after-dinner special treat!!

This recipe is very simple but because you cook it, it has almost a pudding texture to it which makes it extra special!! I’m going to be using this recipe as a base for a s’ more popsicle recipe I’ll be trying to come up with soon! I can’t wait to share that one if I’m be to perfect it!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Combine cocoa powder, cornstarch, sugar, and salt in a pan and mix together well with a whisk.
  2. Add milk and whipping cream, stir on low to medium heat until everything is combined and it just starts bubbling.
  3. Immediately remove from the stove and add vanilla.
  4. Once slightly cooled pour into molds and freeze for at least 6 hours.
